Neptune in Sagittarius: meaning in your birth chart

Neptune spends about 14 years per sign — its sign describes a generation's dreams, illusions and spiritual style more than any personal trait. Personally, its house shows where you idealize, imagine and occasionally fog.

As with all outer planets, the sign belongs to your cohort — the house makes it personal. Neptune in the 2nd dissolves and re-dreams finances; in the 7th, it romanticizes partners. The house shows where the fog and the poetry both concentrate.

Neptune runs retrograde five-plus months a year, so natal retrograde Neptune is nearly a coin flip — and reads as the dreamer with one eye open: idealism checked by an inner skeptic, illusions that get seen through eventually, spirituality that must be verified by experience before it's believed. Less enchantment, more clairvoyance.

The most recent Neptune-in-Sagittarius window ran January 4, 1970 – November 21, 1984. Neptune spends years in one sign, so these are generation markers: everyone born inside a window below carries Neptune in Sagittarius natally.

Neptune, like all outer planets, describes an era more than a person — about fourteen years per sign. It has no gendered reading: the fog, the faith and the glamour of the placement belong to the whole generation. Personally it matters through house and aspects; in relationships, compatible Neptune placements often feel like «we dream in the same language», which is real but shouldn't be mistaken for day-to-day compatibility.
