Chinese New Year 2027: when it is and what year begins

February 6, 2027 opens the Year of the Fire Goat (Ding Wei), which runs to January 25, 2028. After two galloping fire-and-speed years, the cycle changes key: the Goat is the zodiac's artist and peacemaker, and its year traditionally favors reconciliation, creative work, family, beauty and the patient repair of what recent years broke at speed. Fire keeps the temperature warm — this is not a sleepy year — but the flame now lights studios and dinner tables rather than racetracks.

A Fire Goat year rewards different virtues than a Fire Horse one: taste over speed, alliances over conquests, finishing touches over launches.
